Watson Family
The Watsons were earlier settlers of Rhode Island and even today the historic Watson farm continues to operate on Jamestown, established in 1796. Of particular interest to me is Wheeler Watson who married Sarah Taylor Peckham in 1799 and moved almost immediately from Newport to Rensselaerville, New York. As he and his wife died by 1846, few records are available detailing their lives. But their 8 children can and have been followed leading to the discovery of tales from their lives regarding the Civil War, leather tanning, migration to Iowa, service in Congress.
